My name is Castro O. Skinner Sr. I am a Pastor and Artist, born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland USA. In my art work, they are not just pictures but each picture has a personality. There is a story behind the painting and many have fell in love with the story as much as they did the painting. I believe I am a visionary with a God given gift and talent. I once walked away from painting but was physically redirected back to the canvas. I thank God for the opportunity to allow me to share all that God has placed on my heart through Fine Art.

Flood Gates of Heaven
I once seeked to find God's blessing but I could never find it because His blessing is wherever He is. I wanted God to bless me according to my will. In 1995 God lead me to the place and the rightful position to receive His Blessing. Today I'm positioned under the 'Flood Gates of Haven" where there is living water. Sometimes we are in the wrong place with the wrong motives.
Too many times children are hurt because they feel left behind. Many children will suffer mentally because they are unable to feel a part of something or someone. They continue to look for love but love never show up.
​
The Covid-19 years caused many children to be isolated with no social inner actions, lack of mental support and surrounded with news of death and fear. A isolated child is a hurting child.
​
Sometimes the problem is not a child being left behind, but sometime the child needs help keeping up. I think the adults need to be placed in "Time Out". Take time out to Love them and not leave them "Left Behind"

Power to Win
This painting have the personality to encourage. Many people have been in the ring fighting cancer and it needs to be shared, that no weapons formed against them shall prosper, just believe you have the "Power to Win". I know many who have been in the ring and lived to share their story. Many stories are still being told about having the "Power to Win"
Dancing in the Spirit
Many may see a free spirited woman dancing, but my thoughts was to paint a woman dancing in the Spirit. When dancing in the Spirit is called " Ture Worship"
God Got You
Some days we feel as if our help is so far away, both in time and distance. There are times when everything seem hopeless and dark. I thought I could manage my troubles and stay a float in the deep waters of life. I found myself near death, but God said "I Got You". Years later God is still keeping me, because I trust Him.
Sometimes we have to experience going down before we can see what's up. .
When I don't know what to do, I tell myself "Just Breathe". When the Spirit of God breathe on you, God will direct your path. We have to just breathe and know that God will direct our path to where He want us to be.

During my time of weakness and uncertainty, I have learned to "Just Breathe" and know that He is God.
​
​
I volunteered at a juvenile detention center in Maryland where there were many troubled young men. Many young men were missing a key element in their life, the teaching from a godly man.
​
If a young man don't fear God and know God, he won't value
his own life or yours.
​
​
Don't Go Daddy
Being a young father living separate from his children was very hard. The time I spend with them was very precious, but at the end of the visit I would hear their small voice say "Don't Go Daddy" as they held on to my finger.
I realized what was more important than them holding on to my finger, was them knowing that I would hold on and protect their little heart.
Don't let the finger be the only thing that they can touch. They need to know that they can touch your heart.

A Praying Mother

Never under estimate the power of a praying mother or grandmother. I walked in some situations that I should have never been able to walk out of, but the power of a mother praying will cause the enemy to flee. God sent Christ to intercede for us, but when you are young and foolish and don't know Christ, your praying, God fearing mother will intercedes in your behalf.
Mothers Don't Stop Praying
God word is true and I believe and seen His promises kept. God said" I will bless those who bless you".
My grandmother was a seamstress and also worked in the homes of many Jewish families. They blessed our family through my grandmother. At her age of retirement the Jewish family invited my grandmother to live with the family in a house that they would build on their land for her or continue to receive her salary. My grandmother choose to receive her salary, because she own a six bedroom home in Baltimore.
The family continue to pay my grandmother's salary for the rest of her life as promised. God blessed my grandmother to lived until the age of 103.
On the painting there are two Hebrew words "Peace and God. To Love God's people is to Love Him
Colorful Houses
I was born in a loving neighbor-hood.
Many people picture city life and city people with a negative view. Our cities are made of different colored people with different gifts, visions, philosophies and backgrounds. When we come together as a row of colorful houses,
we will become a "neighbor-hood" again.
Let's put our neighbor and God
back in the hood.

Even when we are faced with life's trials and we can't see our way out and we feel alone, trust that you are not alone. Faith is knowing and believing God's protection and provision
for your life even while in a storm.
I now better understand Danger and Fear. Danger and Fear is not based on where you are but who's with you.

Friendship is from the Heart
Friendship is real when you are wiling to give and do for another unconditionally. There are three people that comes to mind when I use the word friendship. It was not based on the color of their skin or their nationality but it was base on the love we shared.
The same with Family, our relationship is based on the Love we share, in spite
of our differences

We are all made in the image of God.
Touch Him
Some people just want to be near Christ and other desire to touch Him in a way that He responds to their touch.

Many times you will have to get low and humble yourself to press your way through. There stand between you and Christ, people, places and things that keep you from touching the hem.
​
I found out that the biggest problem that kept me from touching Him was my flesh. It was the inner me (enemy).

Read the Instructions First
Most men travel the same road, the road " I don't need to read the instruction and I don't need to ask for directions."
​
I was one of those men and I just couldn't put my life together. Ever time I through I had the right part, knew what to do, I later found out it didn't work like I thought. I waste a lot of time because I didn't read the instruction first.
​
The Holy Bible is the only instructions you need to live a joyful and righteous life.
​
" The Lord will renewal their strength"
I seen and heard stories about many heroes but the one that God sent are called "Health Care Workers". They are true heroes. I lost family members but I'm graceful for the ones I still have because of the ones
God sent. I'm bless just to be able to say,
Lord, Thank you!

Too many times children hurt because they feel left behind. Many children will suffer mentally because they are unable to feel a part of something or someone. They continue to seek love but love never show up.

The Covid-19 years caused many children to be isolated with no social inner actions and lack of mental support but surrounded with news of death and fear. A isolated child is a hurting child.
​
Sometimes the problem is not a child being left behind, but sometime the child need help keeping up. I think the adults need to be placed in "Time Out". Take time out to Love them and not leave them "Left Behind"

Living a good life is "waiting on the last trumpet" with joy and not with fear. When trumpet of God sound all will
that He is Lord.
When I was dancing in the clubs, there was a song that would cause me to get excited and I would start doing my dance. When the trumpet sound, it will not be the sounds from the club but the sounds from Christ and His church.

Sometime we are facing and going in the wrong direction. It's the light that reveals what's in the dark.

Darkness can't destroy light, but light
can destroy Darkness.
​
After living and the dark, God turned me around and I seen the light.
Now my purpose is clear and I can now allow Christ's light to be seen in me, that He
would get the glory.

Things are better understood and clear when you are walking toward the light.

Being a young father living separate from his children was very hard. The time I spend with them was very precious, but at the end of the visit I would hear their small voice say "Don't Go Daddy" as they held on to my finger.
